Today, as soon as I entered the classroom, I found something different. A lovely little snowman and colorful balloons are painted on the blackboard. Miss Lin wore two red antler hairpins on her hair. The students laughed when they saw it. It turned out that today we are going to hold the theme activity of "Christmas, my best flash". In the small eyes of the students, the activity of "very wishing" has begun! The rules of the game are: two students are Christmas trees and two are wish fairies. Miss Lin said that if you want something, the fairies will find it. You must put it on the tree and can"t fall down before counting. The first round began. Chen Siyu and Cheng Jingbo opened their hands as a big tree. Teacher Lin suddenly made a wish and said, "I want a pencil box!" fairy Li Peiying and Jia Ziying found the pencil box and put it on. Chen Siyu clamped it hard. Cheng Jingbo was also very stable. They were equal. The second time, the teacher said he wanted a red scarf. It was late. At that time, they quickly took off their red scarf and put it on two "big trees". Chen Siyu"s head was wrapped in a red scarf. She looked very funny. She couldn"t help laughing. Cheng Jingbo has a red scarf hanging around his neck. With the red scarf on his chest, he looks like a person with "amnesia", which makes everyone laugh. Next, Mr. Lin asked for something more and more strange. Later, he asked for a coin. The people of Cheng Jingbo group had a coin and put it on his shoulder proudly, but it was like the last straw to crush the camel. Cheng Jingbo looked like he was dying. It was a tall and straight tree, but it turned into a crooked tree. It"s time for the talent show. You can finally watch the show. Chen Siyu"s performance is "you smile so good". She walked onto the platform generously, with a sweet smile and a pleasant song. Everyone gave her warm applause. Today is the happiest day. We also got Christmas presents. What a harvest! 高中生圣诞节英语作文 Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year for the western countries. It falls on the twenty- fifth of December and has the same importance as Chinese New Year to people with English backgrounds. The celebration is for the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the son of God in Christianity. Now days Christmas is no longer only celebrated by the Christians, but by most people from all over the world. On the twenty- fourth of December everyone gets excited for it’s the day before Christmas which is called Christmas Eve. The children are usually sent to bed early and are warned that “Santa Claus will only come and give you a present if you be good.” The younger kids actually believe that Santa will come down the chimney on the sleigh that’s pulled by his reindeers. Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he comes, however most times parents just eat them. Some children put socks and sacks up for the holding of the presents (that their parents put in). Rise and shine on Christmas morning! The children are always the first ones to wake up, some even do at four. Present wrappers everywhere! They look into their presents with a big smile on their face and oh dear….I hope no one’s disappointed. I feel sorry for anyone that got pink underwear. Children play while dinner is prepared by the adults. The Christmas dinner are usually eaten together by relatives. The tradition of Christmas pudding and roosters are usually eaten with deserts afterwards. The rest of the day is usually games and fun before the good days all come to an end. After we saidMerry Christmas, we began to sing Christmas songs, such as Edelweiss, andso on. Then we told some Christmas stories, such as Christmas Father. Then I danced and laughted with my friends. Eastern Orthodox Churches, which use the Julian Calendar to determine feast days, celebrate on January 7 by the Gregorian Calendar. Both dates are merely traditional and neither is thought to be the actual birthdate of Jesus. Christ‘s birth, or nativity, is said to fulfill Old Testament prophecies concerning the coming of a messiah, or savior. The word Christmas is derived Middle English Christemasse and from Old English Cristes msse.It is a contraction meaning Christ‘s mass. The name of the holiday is often shortened to Xmas because Roman letter X resembles the Greek letter Χ (chi), an abbreviation for Christ . In Western countries, Christmas has become the most economically significant holiday of the year. The popularity of Christmas can be traced in part to its status as a winter festival. Many cultures have their most important holiday in winter because there is less agricultural work to do at this time. Examples of winter festivals that are believed by some to have influenced Christmas include the pre-Christian festivals of Yule and Saturnalia. In Western culture, the holiday is characterized by the exchange of gifts among friends and family members, some of the gifts being attributed to Santa Claus (also known as Father Christmas, Saint Nicholas, and Father Frost). However, various local and regional Christmas traditions are still practiced, despite the widespread influence of American, British and Australian Christmas motifs disseminated by film, popular literature, television, and other media.
